*
No matter where we live, and what our parents believe, we should
be treated with equal fondness & fairness.
* When we are being cared for, we must be kept safe and healthy.
* All children are to live and to grow.
* We all need a name, and to be celebrated for who we are.
* We all need loving family care. Do not take us away from
good parents.
* We need to speak for ourselves, to draw and paint, and to
read and study.
* We deserve to be protected from harm.
* Those of us who are disabled deserve to enjoy a full and
decent life.
* We must have proper health care, from the moment we come
into this world.
* Good education is the right of every young person.
* Our teachers should help us grow our talents and abilities,
help is feel respect for others and the environment.
* No matter what our culture, we should be allowed to celebrate
it, to speak our own language and practise our own religion.
* We need to play, and to have enough rest when we're tired.
* In times of war keep us safe, and don't make us part of
your battles.
* Hey everyone! - Tell others that these are the rights of
every child in this universe!

This
is a traditional game from our North American Indian brothers &
sisters. Play it on your own or with friends! You will need:
* About 6 large fruit stones -(from peaches, plums, prunes etc.)
* A marking pen
* A large, unbreakable bowl
How to Play:
1. Clean and dry the fruit stones, then mark each one with a stripe
across the middle - only on one side of the stone.
2. Put the stones in the bowl, then toss them up in the air and
catch them again. How many landed with the stripe showing? Count
and then see if you can beat your own score!

Ask
a friend to look at the clock - or watch - and to pick one of the
numbers without telling you which one. Then tell them to
'draw' an imaginary line from that number to the number exactly
opposite. Now your friend has two secret numbers right? - He or
she has to subtract the smaller number from the larger one...
without telling you. Then you 'read their mind' by saying the
answer - 6.
(The trick is that's the answer is always 6!
Have a good look at a clock face and you will see why!)

| Go
to the beach or the park, and collect items like shells, feathers,
seeds, driftwood or twisty twigs, special leaves or grass-heads, and
other such treasures. Find a branch about the width of your chest,
then tie each treasure onto it, using fine, strong thread. Make sure
the items are far enough away from each other so they will not tangle.
Then hang up your mobile (from its mid point), and watch it turn in
the breeze... |

Enjoy
some 'silly-time', on your own or with friends, making cartoons.
Ask an adult for some old newspapers or magazines that you can cut
up. Look for photographs which show scenes of people together, or
animals. Then imagine something funny that one of the people or
animals could be saying or thinking. Draw or paste speech or thought
bubbles and write your words on them! This game gets funnier the
more you play it!

Draw
a grid of as many squares as you want - say 100? (10 across and
10 down). One person is '0' and the other 'x'. Each person takes
a turn to draw a '0' or a 'x' in one of the squares, and you try
to block your opponent's lines. You win when you have a line if
5 or more 'o's or 'x's in a row - up & down, across or diagonally.
